ACT is an introductory training program that teaches computer skills to new users with blindness or visual impairment. Instruction is offered in free, weekly one-on-one sessions with a peer tutor.
Accessible computer training now online!
Learn from the comfort of your home. Baby boomers are doing it! We’ve teamed up with ExperienceSeniorPower (ESP) at www.50plusprime.com. As you know, we believe in promoting independence for all aspects of life, and this is one other opportunity to learn new ways of using a computer. Try the free magnification and screen reader tools listed below and join the fun of learning Microsoft Word. You can even write your own autobiography to share with family.
GDABVI will be joining ESP at St. Patrick’s Senior Center in Detroit and one other site coming soon! If you took classes at one of the libraries for the blind and visually impaired, this is a great next step! If you can’t be there in person, you can join us from your home computer or from anywhere! This easy-to-follow tutorial has been used by kids to teach grandparents! Now it’s your turn!
