Dear Friend of Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind and Visually Impaired,
We have great news! GDABVI has been selected for inclusion in the Detroit Free Press and The Skillman Foundation 2006 Summer Dreams Program. Donations received will support our summer camp for children with visual impairments.
Free Press Summer Dreams is a matching gift program designed to help selected non-profits obtain much-needed items for a successful summer camp. This year, our goal is to raise $27,150. Your donation will help to provide for the following: transportation, specialized recreational equipment, back packs, t-shirts, field trip admissions, independent living kits, and camperships. The theme of this year’s camp, “Building Dreams and Transforming Lives, One Child At A Time”, reflects the GDABVI’s commitment to children with visual impairments. The goal of our summer camp is to assist these special children as they gain new skills, a greater sense-of-self and increased independence by improving daily living skills and socialization.
We are asking you to give a gift today! The Skillman Foundation through the Summer Dreams Program will match your gift dollar-for-dollar up to $1,500. Giving a gift of $100 means that GDABVI will receive $200 to help us reach our goal!
Please click the button below to download the Donation Form, print it, fill in the information and mail it with your check to: Children First, P.O. Box 64702, Detroit, MI 48264. Any donation received after August 1, 2006 is not eligible for matching funds. Please feel free to contact us with your questions or for additional information at 313-272-3900.
