GDABVI News Release

For Immediate Release - April 9, 2008

Artist collaborates with Agency to explore creativity in
children who are blind and visually impaired

Artist and U of M Professor Sadashi Inuzuka, in conjunction with the Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind and Visually Impaired, will conduct sculpting workshops for metro Detroit children with severe vision loss. Sadashi, himself visually impaired, works with young people in ways that encourage them to grow creatively and understand their own potential.

This year will mark the eighth time the Agency has collaborated with Sadashi on the workshop series, which will be held at University of Michigan Detroit Center at Orchestra Place on May 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 13 and 15. More than 80 metro Detroit young people who are blind or visually impaired are expected to participate.

The Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides innovative services to increase the self-reliance in men, women and children who are blind or visually impaired.
